We had a day trip to a villa in Rancamya owned by our acquitance. It's only an hour drive from Jakarta, but if you go at the wrong time, the road usually jammed with traffic. Along the side road there are so many huts selling vegetables, fruits, meats or souvenirs. Many of the locals approach the passenger cars to sell stuff like snacks or toys, you can spot lots of singing beggars on the road as well. The area is still remote and the poverty level is quite high.
The air is cleaner than Jakarta, and because Rancamaya is located in highlands, the temperature in there is lower. And you can still enjoy a natural scenery in one of the outdoor restaurant called, Desa Bumbu.
